Wow - never knew that there were 5 wild groups of Moba fronts in the area! Are they members of CCA?

Matt I had these shipped from out of area from members on Cyphos.com

I know of 4 groups in our area but none are producing.

I have only wild Kitumba and mikula, hope to add moba and maybe another group or 2 once the weather gets better.

Moba are the most sought after Front because it is the bluest Front, but pricey because females do not hold so it's hard to breed. How old is your alpha male? I notice that juvenile Front are brighter because the width of their light and dark bands are about even. As Front mature, the dark bands expand into the light bands turning them darker. I've seen old specimen Burundi turned into solid dark angel with no light bands left. I wonder if Moba age more gracefully.

Moba are pretty common among the different Zaires actually, zaires breeding difficulty depends on the actually fish and colony you have. I've heard of some that don't breed at all and some that produce on clockwork.

These F1 i did not breed myself so I can't tell you specifics.

Some alpha Zaires can have vibrant bars and blues while some may go very dark.

My alpha Kitumba is a perfect example of this, he's 12"+ and dark

I have group of wild moba recently imported. Very nice group. I have kept Zaires for many years. Kitumbas, Kapampas, Mobas, Mikulas. I have not personally found any one group or collection point to have deeper blue than others. I have owned kitumba purples, moba purples, mikulas that all had the same deep blue color.

+1. To agree with and answer to the same point you're speaking to, Moba has the most name recognition, doesn't make them more blue. Depends not only on where, but when they were collected, even the importer, as far as how good are his connections. Original Kapampa were very blue. Original Kitumba very purple, etc.
