This is one of the rarest fish kept in the hobby, thought for over 40 years to be extinct in the wild, now known to be critically endangered. A very hardy goodeid, the males have a bright orange/yellow stripe in the tail. When in breeding color the male turns charcoal black, with that bright stripe in the tail as he courts the females. They will have from 10-15 young approximately every 60 days, and it is best to remove the female to have her young separately. For the serious collector ONLY!Pack of 9 available adults and sub adults - Make OFFERSee the following website for current aquabid price: http://www.aquabid.com/cgi-bin/auction/auction.cgi?fwlivebearersw&1377296441

Most goodeids, unfortunately, are critically endangered or extinct in the wild.

I got some from John Mangun of PVAS... They're a nice little goodeid - not too aggressive outside of males being a little nippy... I kept them with Egyptian Mouthbrooders...

Skanda - could you start a thread in the CARES section about your experiences with these?

Whoever buys them could add to it..

Matt
