Evil red velvet swordtail

At the last meeting, I bought a trio of red velvets swords. I thought they'd be fine with my angelfish, but it would appear that the large female has a taste for eyes. I came home today and it had eaten BOTH of one of my white angelfish's eyes. It also makes me suspicious of the death of another angelfish a few days ago.

I hate the thing. :angry:

Sorry to hear about that. I've kept a few swords over the years and never had that type of issue, but know that some live bearers can be down right mean.

Pretty but generally nasty/abusive fish IME. One species I haven't bothered to keep in quite some time.

It was the large female that did it. The other two seem to be ok (at least for now).

I had a flame gourami that decimated a colony of neon tetras in a weekend because of its lust for fish eyeballs.
