ECC Doing's...

EastCoastCichlids.org has two Road Trips planned for the not-so-distant future.

The first is right around the corner.
Saturday, January 22nd, ECC takes the show on the road to Peter Rubin's Atlantis Fish Hatchery. This is always a huge trip as many of us meet up for breakfast pre-spending spree.
Atlantis is over 4,000 square feet with over 40,000 gallons of some of the finest African Cichlids in the US.
ATLANTIS

The second is going to be a Road Trip/Group Buy.
Because the drive to this "still-not-named" facility is a long drive for many of you, ECC will be running a group buy (well, actually Sarah will be running the Group Buy at BWI:D) AND Road Trip.
Many of the "Specialty" African Cichlid people will be chomping at the bit to get involved in this. This announcement will come at the end of the month of January.

Also don't forget that ECC is giving away a weekend stay at the ACA in DC. This giveaway will be in April, but every-so-often there is a contest on ECC to give you a better chance at having your name drawn.

May 1st will be our HUGE Spring Auction '11!
Same great location, same great food and same great...

In June ECC will have our yearly Group Buy to Davesfish.com. Dave Schumacher always makes sure that his facility is stocked a little extra special as ECC and CCA members battle to see which airport will have spent the most amount of money at Dave's.

See everyone at the February CCA Meeting!

Wish I could make it up to Atlantis, Bill. Pretty slammed the rest of the month though.

Can't wait to hear about that group buy!

I'll put May 1 on my calendar right now. :)

I am on the way, but out of the way.
My drive is 2 1/2 hours to Atlantis.

In about 9 days we will be announcing a big-time Road Trip/Group Buy!
If you have noticed this has not even been mentioned on EastCoastCichlids.

Do you ever think that other people may want to visit a fish house that has South American fish for sale? Do you? Do you? Really? I'm just sayin! :)

Is any one from CCA thinking about going? I can't buy any fish because I don't have room for anything else but i would like to go look. Could you fly or take the train instead of driving 5-6 hours. I'm not sure where it's located so I don't know if these options are available.

Kevin, I think the easiest way would be to drive.

As for a train, you would have to take a train into The City, and then another to Poughkeepsie and then a bus into New Paltz. Without a wait the train and bus from The City into New Paltz would be over 2 hours...I'm not sure how long it takes to take a train from DC to NY.
Flying is probably not even an option.

Anyone contemplating going? I am debating it but am not looking forward to 6 hour drive alone. If anyone is interested in carpooling let me know.

I have visited fish houses with South American fish many times and invited you on many occasions. You never accepted so do not complain. It makes NO difference that those fish houses were IN South America. It is your fault because you just do not try hard enough:lol:. STOP Your complaining.
