Dry Test Kits

Like a few other members, I have a few test kits sitting around collecting dust. I haven't tested parameters in any of my tanks in years unless there was a problem. I'm sure they all have expired and should be thrown out.

I'm thinking it might be worth the while to test the tanks on occasion, or especially when cycling a new tank. I'm considering ordering a new test kit and came across the dry test kits. I'm sure the degree of accuracy isn't great compared to the titration test kits, but has anyone had problems with them?

I'm fine with value ranges, as I'd be more checking to see if pH was in the right range, or if nitrites/nitrates were in check. The cost is probably higher than standard kits per test, but the overall difference is negligible in my opinion.

Anyone have any experiences or opinions to share?
