DIYcanister filters

has anyone ever made a canister filter before, they do nit seem to hard to build and i enjoy projects like this but is it worth making my own? and if any one has made one what container did you use ad the canister body? i think a 5 gallon bucket would work but i can not find any videos or any ones plans for one. any suggestions or ideas will help thank you in advanced.

You will have to reinforce the 5 gallon bucket so the lid does not come off. ... There are some videos on YouTube
