DC Water

Public Service Announcement: I did a 20% water change yesterday and everything looked great. Woke up this morning to a partially cloudy tank (bacteria bloom) and labored fish. I'm not sure if the chlorine levels are extremely high in the water this week or excess nutrients out of the tap...

Anyway, I kicked up aeration and my fish perked up within about 10 minutes. So for those of you in DC...keep an eye on your tanks this week.

Interesting experience. I did 50% water changes yesterday and today, using DCWASA water, applied Safe for the chloramine, and have had absolutely no issues. I will keep an eye out, however, and report back if I have issues.

Remember everyone should check their parameters when the seasons change. The water changes for some reason. May be additives, run off whatever.

Four hours after increasing aeration the tank (125g) is clear and all fish are acting normal...very strange.
