Daniel's Tangs - Sampler

For you all who haven't had a chance to see Daniel Cohen's collection of Tanganyikans, you don't know what you are missing. I spent a few hours trying to photograph some of the them yesterday and was truly impressed.

So he may reserve the joy of showing you his pride in future articles and talks, he gave me permission to share just a few of his beauties.

I will let you tang experts id these guys, since I'm a Malawi fan...well, until yesterday :D

Sorry Bobby  , I should know better then trying to multi-task before my first pot of coffee  .
Everyone needs to know how much time Bobby had to put into making these pictures look so good. As those of you who have been over know, my tanks are working tanks, which is a nice way of saying that if the water quality is good and the fish are breeding I don't put a whole lot of time in making them pretty, just functional, since my interest has always been in breeding. After seeing what my fish look like under good light, glass cleaned, etc. I think I'm going to put some more time in "prettying up my tanks". I didn't think I could increase my enjoyment of keeping fish, but Bobby's pictures have shown me a whole new aspect of fish keeping. And who said an old dog can't learn new tricks.
I think I'm going to cut down on the amount of fry and breeders (Do I really need 10 breeding pairs of Julies?) that I'm working with.
Thanks again Bobby!
Daniel

Francine,
I guess I don't any excuse not to do one now.
I think Bobby might be giving you some competition in taking fishy pictures :D !
Thanks,
Daniel

It's not competition. I'm still the student. Maybe in a hurry to get to the head of the class though :D.

I think I enjoyed shooting these as much as Daniel has enjoyed viewing them. I look forward to doing more.

Here are a couple for Francine showing the particulars in the script on the bottom of the frame.

The shadow over the head of the Red Rainbow on the right may be a little distracting, but I think it reminds us that this tank is full of T. moori B).

The subject is preferred looking towards the front in the composition...unless he has friend doing it for him :D .
