I finally have fry!!! I was going to see how much eggs my female cyp was carrying..I took her from the tank, and as I opened her mouth, I was surprised to see dark little things dart out from her mouth! I thought she was holding eggs for about two weeks..but apparently they are already ready to wean..no more yolks on their bodies.. I should have read more info about breeding and egg development on these species. I'm so happy its like Xmas come early! Father is from a group I got from Tony Horos, and mother is from Esther (davidzoo).. Pics are the fry in a 2 gallon beta tank.. Excuse the large heater..I was not expecting fry from the mom.. Its been tuned down so hopefully I do not overheat the tank.. Will move them to a bigger tank soon!

Congrats! I've gotten eggs from my cyps before, but no fry yet.

Thank you! I can finally say I've got some fry that Christine doesn't! Lol..just kidding Christine.. Your fishroom is so cool and you've been so successful with breeding that its such an inspiration to try to follow you.. I'm hoping to one day be a successful fish breeder as most of the members here on CCA are..just hope I can set aside room for that..maybe in some time..:)

Thanks for the kind words, Aldrich! There are a lot of things out there that I haven't spawned!

Post some pics of the parents (if you can)!

Pics as promised.. I tried my best.. First few are of the father..last two are of the mom..she's recuperating in a tank now.. She's jumped to the top twice. I guess she's not too happy about me taking her first brood away from her..

My Cyps are in a 75 gal with tons of other Tangs (calvus, multis, paracyps, a gobi, and a lone Callochromis), a BN, and a Victorian cyp-like group.
