Crenicara Maculatus

I've just done a stupid thing. I broke my own rule and bought fish I know almost nothing about. I've found very little info on Crenicara maculatus online. I know it's a S. American cichlid, is not the same as dicrossus maculatus or filimentosum, likes soft, acid water. Can anyone please tell me anything more? Please?
Thanks,
Cristy

Cristy,
I think the classification for that species is dicrossus. It is a clear water species, but can be kept in medium-hard neutral water. However, if you want to spawn them, soft acidic water is needed.
They are found in water temperatures from 80 to the upper 90's.

Good luck!
