Convict cichlid missing his nemesis?

Hi,
I had two large cichlid in a 16. The bright one nearly killed the other one. I put the bright one in his own tank. But now the bullied one acts a bit crazy! He swims up and down all the time like he can't stay still. I don't think it's a happy dance he's doing. Lol
Any thoughts appreciated!

Chris

Most times I have seen erratic behavior like that was due to poor water quality. A 16 isnt a lot of room for adult cons and I would think that you would need weekly water changes of at least 50%.

Thx for the reply.

I just changed out about 25 actually. Also tested and pH is a tad low (7), buy all else is fine. He didn't start acting like this til I separated them. My thought is that he may think he's still there and hiding from him as a predator. He is the only one in that tank too.
