Everybody who has used windows up to Windows 5 (better known as Windows XP) has seen the 'Blue Screen of Death' at least once.

In Windows Vista and Win7 it is different now, but it's still there.

What people don't realize is it isn't Windows' fault, but actually your hardware's. Windows is actually a pretty stable OS, but because it is constantly under attack by hackers looking for ways to commit identity theft it needs constant security updates if you are connected to the internet.

Another thing people don't realize is that Mac's also have a 'computer crash' screen. You can rarely see them on faulty iPods as well. They look like this:

The reason Apple products rarely get crash screens/errors is that Apple directly controls ALL peripheral hardware for Macs, making it very unlikely for a crash to occur as all hardware they put in the computer chassis is already confirmed to be compatible with the Mac operating systems.

So don't hate Windows just because they can crash! It isn't Windows' fault! It's your cheap computer hardware!

Anyway, here is a HILARIOUS video.

Back in 1997 or 1998 when Microsoft was having a convention to show off their new Windows 98 computer operating system, they wanted to show how basic peripheral devices like scanners, printers, mice, keyboards, etc can be just plugged into the computer and it will work after your computer finds the appropriate driver software for it either from the device or from its own operating system files.

The problem is, the scanner was a bad piece of hardware, and caused the Windows 98 computer to crash in front of Bill Gates and a live audience, as well as live television (anybody watching CNN worldwide saw this).

Swim Fishy Swim!
That reminds me of one of my favorite jokes:

Microsoft vs. General Motors

At a recent computer expo, Bill Gates reportedly compared the computer industry with the auto industry and stated "If GM had kept up with technology like the computer industry has, we would all be driving $25.00 cars that got 1,000 miles to the gallon.
In response to Bill's comments, General Motors issued a press release stating: If GM had developed technology like Microsoft, we would all be driving cars with the following characteristics:
1.For no reason whatsoever, your car would crash twice a day.

2.Every time they repainted the lines in the road, you would have to buy a new car.

3.Occasionally your car would die on the freeway for no reason. You would have to pull over to the side of the road, close all of the windows, shut off the car, restart it, and reopen the windows before you could continue. For some reason you would simply accept this.

4.Occasionally, executing a maneuver such as a left turn would cause your car to shut down and refuse to restart, in which case you would have to reinstall the engine.

5.Macintosh would make a car that was powered by the sun, was reliable, five times as fast and twice as easy to drive - but would run on only five percent of the roads.

6.The oil, water temperature, and alternator warning lights would all be replaced by a single "General Protection Fault" warning light.

7.The airbag system would ask "Are you sure?" before deploying.

8.Occasionally, for no reason whatsoever, your car would lock you out and refuse to let you in until you simultaneously lifted the door handle, turned the key and grabbed hold of the radio antenna.

9.Every time GM introduced a new car, car buyers would have to learn to drive all over again because none of the controls would operate in the same manner as the old car.

10.You'd have to press the "Start" button to turn the engine off.

In defense of Windows (and PCs in general (well, technically Macs ARE PCs now since they run Intel chipsets)), Apple with their virus-free 'honeymoon' is going to come to an end pretty fast.

Now that Apple Computers are getting more popular in the general public, they are going to be targeted more. There was already a pretty significant security breach with iPad's that was on the news recently.

I have come in defense of Apple users! LOL Okay, if I read the article correctly, it stated, "The vulnerability was on AT&T's site". As a die-hard Apple user, I would like to add that Apple has never been "virus-free". I enjoy telling people that the majority of these viruses, malware, trojans, key-loggers, etc. are written with a ".exe" or ".dll" extension. My wonderful Apples don't understand those two extensions at all, and thus, they have no effect on the operating system. But I sure can receive them, harbor them, and pass them along!
As you stated, Apple will be targeted more now that they are growing in popularity. I dread that day. For now, I will continue to enjoy using my 2 ancient (9 year old) Apple eMac and iMac, which still run facebook, myspace, youtube, and just about everything else on the internet just fine with less than 1Gig of RAM and a processor equivalent to around 1Gig (it's actually 700MHz).
So next time, you Windows users are defragging your computer, using ScanDisk to check for problems, or cursing because your "Rock-solid" Windows operating system misplaced a driver rendering your monitor useless, come cry on my shoulder - I'm always up for an "I told you so"!
