I have to clear up a couple tanks to have some available for quarantining new fish. I have some Labeotropheus trewavasae that are 1.5 to 2 inches. I was going to put them with a pair of Labidochromis chisumulae and Copadichromis borleyi(2 to 2.5 inches) in a 40 breeder.

I also have an adult female Labeotropheus trewavasae. Would she be too aggressive for my Haps tank(Red Empress, Nimbochromis livingstonii and will be adding Sunshine peacocks)? Right now she is with the young trewavasae and their don't appear to be issues.

I would think that the combo in the smaller tank would work out just fine, Jesse. Long term though, it may get rough. I tried adult Labeotropheus in a 40 for a while and it was no bueno... they were a good size though.

The female trewavasae may be a bit aggressive, but not like the males. If it were me, I'd have no problem with dropping her in with your bigger guys. Even though I'd be confident with adding her, I'd still keep an eye out though.. all fish are different and she was the boss of her old tank.

Good luck.
