Chilling Out at Richard's

After listening to George talk about Peru at the October meeting I didn't think the day could get any better, then Richard Mendez(Submariner) invited me over to his house to check out his tanks after the meeting.

Even though Richard didn't have any fish from the best lake(Tanganyika aka Darkside) He had a awesome collection from the runner-up lake(Malawi aka Ms. Congeniality) Richard has some of the most stunning peacocks I have ever seen. Anyway there were other CCA members there to talk fish with and before I knew it it was 10pm.

I just wanted to thank Richard and his family for their hospitality and to say I really enjoyed talking fish for extra hours and meeting some new CCA people for the first time. I'll have to invite some people over to my place one of these days it's a great way to meet new people and continue to enjoy the ones you already know.

Not nice to post this though. :angry3:

I was leaning on trying some of the Dark Side and then some SA cichlids and cats. :angel2:

Now I have to rethink the Malawi group.

Hanging out at Richards was a blast! It reaffirmed my devotion to Malawi fish. I have a discus tank and a small tang tank, but everything else of mine comes from Malawi. He has some awesome fish and I had an awesome time talking with everybody. His wife and daughter even made food for us! Thanks again Richard, look forward to hanging out again soon.

Yeah Richard, your fish are top-notch as well as your setup. It's wild when you consider that you have 25 or so tanks in one room, it's still more of a lounge than a fish room. Very cool setup. Every tank is well stocked and furnished nicely for the fish. Unbelievable.

As Michael stated, I was in Malawi heaven. We definitely need to talk a bit more in the future as some of your fry get a bit bigger. I've got great homes for them. :)

Also, please thank your wife and daughter again for the hospitality. Everything was great. The only bummer is that we had to leave to go take care of the new fish. I could have stayed there for hours. Thanks again.
