Suck. Verb. To draw into the mouth by creating a partial vacuum.
Indeed most fishes suck... That is, they take advantage of the physical properties of their environment, particularly in the actions of respiration and eating. By expanding their mouths and gill cavities they are able to take in water through their mouths and either pass it over their gills to absorb oxygen and excrete CO2, or to draw food into the mouth where it can be processed for swallowing.
In fact, virtually the only fishes that don't suck are certain elasmobranchs known as requiem sharks which never developed the muscles in the mouth cavity to do so.
So yes, catfishes suck!
