Can someone identify these Cichlids?

I found these in an African Cichlid mix tank. I'm thinking a Zebra hybrid because my Colbalt Blue Zebra is chasing them and also my Yellow Labs love them.

Looks like it could be Tropheops Macrophthalmus 'Albino Red-face Mac' but without confirmation from the store, its impossible to say for sure.

Thanks. The tropical fish store had no clue since they came in their "mix" order. All he could say was some type of albino hybrid because they get a red shine in the eye if you look at them at an angle.

I do see some similarity in what Mike said, but wouldn't bank on it. Those albino red-face mac are a very uncommon fish and not very likely to turn up in a mixed African tank.

Anything brought from a "mixed African tank" has the potential to be a nice fish, but its purity can never be guaranteed. If you're just setting up a community tank, theres no harm in buying these fish. Its a shame the farms won't even confirm what is sent.

If you're interested in quality fish, or something with known lineage, check out some of our club sponsors. There are plenty of really nice fish out there that can still be bought for a reasonable price. The mixed tank concept is a great starting point, but eventually you may become more interested in specialized areas of the hobby.

The reason I picked these guys up is to try and crowd my tank because I was given a pair of Pundamilia Nyererei and the male is constantly chasing the female until she is ragged looking. I got a female Peacock to give the male something else to chase and she ended up dying. The male doesn't like anyone colorful (lost a juv. OB peacock and a juv. red empress when I first added them) and the female doesn't like vertical stripes ( chases my colbalt blue zebra who amazingly holds up well, and she suddenly turned on my juv. Electric Blue Ahli) I just can't locally find and female Pundamilia anywhere...

House of tropicals had a bunch last time I was there. That was almost two weeks ago. I thought about getting some but the guy there said they were not the albino version of the Tropheops sp. 'red cheek'. But they sure do look similar.
