Hello, I currently have a 150 gallon glass aquarium and the standard wood stand. I want to replace the tank for an acrylic 200 gallon it's the same
foot print just taller (36"H) do you think the stand can handle the extra
load?
You are correct but it can be solved. Add a few vertical 2x4s to help with the load. (4 extra vertical supports) And a sheet of foam to keep from bowing
Yes you can probably use it IF you add more support to the top and add a sheet of plywood or something for the top. Jmoore was correct, they need a solid flat surface.
Post up a picture of the stand when you get a chance.
