It looks like a german red or ruby red to me also. The "german" used to be the one with the more blue face and the distinct cutoff at the shoulder, but the ruby and germans now seem to be looking more and more the same.

He looks more blonde than red. Trust me on this one, I have a aulonocara baenschi looks just like that one. Joel, go ahead and google Auloncara baenschi benga yellow and you'll see it looks exactly like what you have. I just believe that yours hasn't matured enough to be fully blonde.

Eric Bodrock saw the fish in the tank and thought they were baenschi as well. Didn't even hesitate. I don't see them as ruby reds myself. I see no red at all. Even when spawning-I have a couple broods coming up.

looks Maleri to me...or at least it looks like mine..and I have both Benga and Maleris
