Breeder boxes

I am a big fan of the cobalt egg rocker. I recently learned that Ziss aqua really makes the Rocker and cobalt distributes them in the US.

I am inquiring to find out where to buy them in the Us. How many do you want?

It looks like a nice set up, but I prefer boxes for fry that are outside of the main tank. I've tried several different kinds of the internal boxes, and somehow the fry always end up getting harassed/eaten/killed by adult fish in the tank below. This product would be good for isolation of a fish, but I'd go with an external box for fry.

For those of us who keep more gentle fish, I think the advantage of having an in the tank box is that it keeps the temperature more stable.

You can easily convert a passive breeder box into an active box by tying a small tube on one inside corner and dropping an air stone into the tube. If the bottom of the tube is in touch with the bottom of the box, the air lifting motion will draw tank water into the box and cascade out of the box. This is better than just dropping an airstone inside the box because it can create too much turbulence for small fry. Another trick to secure the box on the tank wall is to use a pair of strong algae magnet

Depending on price, I would try 1 or 2.

I like in-tank boxes because when I put fry in breeder boxes I put those boxes in tanks with small schooling fish, etc., so it's not likely adults are going to harass them. I also use them for shrimp from time-to-time and frequently use them for larger fry that come from fish like plecos.

I like the tumblers, but the breeder box is too small IMO
Teds is a little larger but not enough flow for me.
the one I like was made by someone up north????
I have had it for quite a long time, but I really like the idea that you can control the flow (with air source) and the screens are interchangable depending on the size of your fry.

Also, as far as inside or outside the tank.... if you are using the tanks filtration and bioload, I suppose it doesn't matter, but the nice thing about inside the tank, is you are keeping the temps and parameters exactly the same as the tank...

here is pic of the frykeeper I like best

Ok I think everyone knows the best solution is get more tanks.....lol
Just use the one for the fry as a sump...boom problem solved same parameters and possibly even a source of food for the fry as they can pick at the micro organisms....lol

It depends on the fish but I do like ones on the inside of the tanks a little better.. But would def like solid sides that prevent fry from being harassed or eaten. I saw one with a curved solid bottom with slits cut into it under the flat Mesh surface.....I think I might have just been a soda bottle cut in half with slits cut into it and then placed under the breeder box keeping the fish from bullying them from below .

Beantown aquatics carries them. They had them at the ACA convention.
They are not that expensive but maybe you can get a volume discount. I would be interested.
