Black or Blue

I will be painting my new tanks and wanted to see what color do most prefer? (Black or Blue)

Any particular brand or shade?

Do you think any specific color makes the fish stand out better?

For bare bottom tanks what color do you paint them?

for me i am a black paint background with black substrate in all my tanks. with the current inventory if fish i have it works well....

I prefer black in almost all cases. Dark blue works with Malawi/tanganyika fish or saltwater IMO.

I have most of my tanks blue but some black.

I prefer the dark blue or black but I have found that some of my fish will color up differently with the darker color tank.

Years ago some of my Demasoni would look almost black in the dark tanks but a few days after I put them in the lighter blue tanks they changed and became lighter.
I have had it on a couple of Malawi.

But I still prefer dark blue or black myself

I did one tank a medium blue. I don't recommend it. I'll always do black in the future

I knew a guy once who liked to put aluminum foil on the back of his tanks. Looked weird, but sure was an easy background.

I just change most all my tanks to Blue
I do have one 75 still in Black
I think i prefer the blue myself
