Do you know what strain or source of the parents? Bifas came in two forms, one with red head like Synspillum, and the other with uniform red dots. Yours look like the red head one from Rio Chacamax. I will be interested in geting a few juvies next time I come down to DC.

@cichlidaddict and festaedan--Both fish are Rio Chacamax. the male came from Jeff Rapps about 3 years ago and the female came from Gage Brady about 2 years ago. they have spawned for me 4 times but this was the first successful spawn. not sure if im gonna make the meeting but we can meet up or you can come here. price Negotiable.

Viejaman, I am from South Jersey area and don't attend the CCA meeting. However, I come down to NOVA often so I can arrange to pick up the fish. Where are you located in DC? I have met and traded fish with people at Beltway Aquarium. I will likely have a trip to NOVA in 2 to 3 weeks and will PM you.

Picked up my share of juvies from Viejaman at Beltway. They are greedy eater and ate right away after I released them from the bag after a 3 hour trip. Bifas are like synspillum that have high variation in color quality. You have to pick the good strain to worth the investment. I have always been looking for the red head strain.
