Back to this grind...

As much as it pains me to say, I want to get back into planted tanks. Nothing big, (no more than a 15gal). I relatively know what plants I want, but I'm asking what kind of fish are suitable for this space?
I want something(s) that fills the upper and lower regions. Maybe 3-5 different kind of species. Anything from Otos to Danios.
Any suggestions?

Ottos are awesome. Best bang-for-your-buck algae eaters around.

Maybe a group of smaller cories, a group of tetras/rasboras, a fancy pleco and a pair of apistos/rams/kribs?

I'm housing my Gymnos in a planted 20H now, but they will need bigger tank eventually.... either 20L or 40B.

Dwarf rainbows(Pseudomugil/ furcata, signifer, gertrude) they are colorful and very active.

Threadfin's (Iriatherina werneri) are cool also a tankful with several males displaying all the time looks pretty cool.

In a fifteen gallon, I would opt for a few small tetras and a few pygmy cories, a couple of ottos and maybe a bristlenose. A pair of SA or WA spawning will take out the other fish 'cos they will have no place to go.

I'm digging the Iriatherina werneri's, but I'm not too crazy about rainbows. But several of these guys look cool. No plecos though :p

I'm thinking, Otos, Threadfins, small Tetras and maybe 4-5 cories.

I have been happy with a group of purple danios (I have no idea on the scientific name) that I have as dithers in one of my grow out tanks. Very active and always swimming around the top of the tank.
