Hi all,
When I was a teenager I had six or seven tanks going in the house, almost all cichlids. My kid brother and I had a 75 gal in which we kept big africans and later some big south american guys. We stuffed our tanks full of big messy fish with personality.
Fast forward 25 years. My 7-year-old decides he wants an aquarium. I haven't put one together in years, so i just go the easy route--I dig a HOB filter, a 15 gal tank, and some gravel out of the mothballs, and off we go. Then he (predictably) loses interest, and I somehow bump into...a Takashi Amano book.
That was a year ago. Now I have two planted tanks. One has been a labor of love/hate for the last six months. I put my woodworking skills to use and built a handmade cabinet and LED fixture for a rimless 57 gallon tank. I finally planted it a couple of months ago and it is now starting to fill out. The kids and my wife just love it--it surprises us anew every day. We had damselflies hatching out of it on Tuesday night.
I registered for this forum because I want to find some dwarf cichlids for this tank. The current occupants are otos, amanos, and a school of espey's rasboras. Anyone know where I can find some blue rams?
