Anyone here done an automatic water changing system using a drip emitter? I am setting up some tanks in my basement and have some real flexibility since I'm near a utility sink and have already tapped into the water lines. I understand the concept of dripping in X gallons per hour and having an overflow (via PVC most likely since my tanks aren't drilled) to remove water. What I'm looking for is specific models/part numbers for an adjustable emitter that I can use (preferably that I can find at Lowes/Home Depot). Right now I have 1/2" CPVC pipe that is capped coming off my cold water line. I can install a ball valve on it, or perhaps put on a pressure regulator (would also love to know which part specifically).
So basically from the 1/2" pipe on is where I need some help.
As an aside, this kind of thing would make a cool mini-presentation at AM3.
Bring in a few of the parts, describe how it works, then make people sign a waiver saying they won't sue when they end up dumping gallons of water all over their floor at home.
