Aqueon modular LED 48"

I have a slightly used Aqueon modular LED fixture that's 48", so it goes over a 55-gallon tank. It comes with two day white light strips and one Colormax strip. It's a great energy-efficient light for a low-tech planted tank with undemanding plants, and unlike other LED lights, you can switch out the light strips when they wear out. I used it for about two months, then wanted to try some more ambitious plants with higher light needs, so I bought a different LED fixture.

Here's an Amazon link to the fixture--

The light fixture with the three light strips retails for about $140. I'm looking for $80.

I can bring the light to Saturday's PVAS meeting or to next Saturday's CCA meeting or to Aquamania.

Hi I don't want to be rude, the link you provided showing an on sale price of almost the same price of what you are asking.

I would limit your plants to low- to medium-light plants with it. I have one of these Aqueon modular LEDs on a 29 gallon tank with a glass top, and I grow water sprite, wisteria, ludwigia (though not much turns bright red), vals, anubias, some pesky hairgrass and hornwort that I can't seem to get rid of, and java moss.

The water sprite, wisteria and vals, in particular, seem to do just fine with the light. I also have an Amazon sword in there, though it isn't growing robustly, and some somewhat sparse chain swords, though that is probably due more to the shading by the other stem plants and driftwood than the output of the light.

Here's a youtube video that shows you how it looks-

And a thread that discusses some of its pros and cons-

LOL - you think hair grass is pesky? I'll take your hair grass!

Ummm... that tank is gorgeous - does it come with the light?

Hah, that's not my tank and not my video!

The hairgrass is more pesky in that it has entangled itself into the java moss and also some of the wisteria, turning into an unsightly tangle. The hairgrass didn't take in the gravel I have as substrate. I just moved into the other plants.

Anyway, if you're interested, I can bring the light on Saturday. Just let me know.

I think, upon a closer review of other items I need, I'm going to have to pass on this light. It's a nice fixture, but considering all I've got in my 55 is some java fern and crypts, plus some fish that eat most plants, putting LED's on that tank is a bit lower on the list than some other items.
