Anyone having success breeding keyholes?

I'd bet that Matt has bred them sometime in his fishkeeping career. I never had any luck with them (Arlene has the pair I used to have).

I just picked up four nice-looking juvies from Congressional, where apparently they've been hanging out for two months.

I had to separate the lovely mature keyhold I got from Sam from the lovely one I got from Arlene as my matching making was seriously not working. Matt C now inherited the one I got from Sam, but as least he's doing well there and not hiding in the back. They were supposed to be boy/girl, but I'm betting someone didn't get the memo . . .

I'm hoping I'll get at least one, maybe two definite pairs at some point from this group . . .

Actually

I gave mine away a couple years back but they spawned maybe 3-4 times in a community 55 wherein they were the top dogs. Skittish all the same, they always munched their own eggs after 2-3 days. If I gave you one it was probably an orphan I acquired in some sort of package deal..

Decisions, decisions

Then henceforth she's either Samantha or I'm Samuel - you get to pick which...

My friend Roger has had success with his keyholes. He says the key is to have them in their own tank. I've gotten fry, but they only make it to two weeks. Going to have set up a tank for them in the near future.

The juvies look really, really good. I'd say they're 2 1/2" or about the size of a mature Bolivian ram. All ate well this morning. They have a bit of a greenish glow to them, which apparently happens depending on where they come from. They'll have a few cories and way too many BNs in the eventual tank with them. It will be interesting to see what Arlene's "big mama" thinks of the new additions, when they're out of QT.
