Another great meeting

Really like the successive in-house programs, sort of like the Unitarian approach to theology, seems like a really effective means for demystifying the hobby and our membership. Good call(s).

Also a nod to CCA's very own energizer bunny, Matt Quinn, for working overtime on prep for AquaMania, as well as everyone who lobbied to craft a fulfilling event without having to stage an auction and a fish show.

Got to love any assemblage where you don't have to worry about "stepping in the leadership" - not that I'm anyone to sit in judgment, but our 2013 board seems to have it wired. Thanks for maintaining the tradition.

I agree, It was a good meeting. Great idea showing off our home grown talents and efforts! Great job speakers standing up in front of your peers is always a challenge. :happy0180:

It felt soo good to be at club! I really enjoyed visiting with all my old buddies and seeing so many new faces! Thanks for the shout out about Amazonas, as well :) Tickled my fancy!

I too enjoyed the talks.
Its great to have members talk from time to time.
Especially in the winter months when we could have problems with weather and such.
I like seeing other set ups and how people breed fish.
I even bid on the Demasoni today. (the people who have been around a while will laugh at that point, but I did bid)

I also really enjoy the meetings in which members do presentations on how THEY keep fish. It really is part art, part science and part plumbing.

Some really, really cool fish in the auction as well. Thanks to Josh and other folks who donated and thanks to folks who entered BAP fish in the raffle. I have the unlikely (and temporary for quarantine) combo of little Laetecara thayeri and Amphilophus lyonsi that I got for embarrassingly little.

Next month is going to be AquaMania (please register...and volunteer) and a real blast!

I hear that Rachel might sign her Amazonas article for those who ask nicely (or bring her a beer) ;) It's really awesome to have such accomplished and fun folks in the club.

It was also great to see new faces and folks revved up about the hobby. We've got something EXCEPTIONAL with the CCA!

Sorry I had to miss the meeting, sounds like it was a good one. I always find it very informative to see how other people keep their fish as I have not been in the hobby for very long.

Another good meeting. Thanks again to the club members who stepped up to make a presentation. I always like to hear about how others are successfully keeping their fish. As Tony and I said, we're looking to keeping this going and having more talks in the future about successful BAP spawns.

Thanks again to Sam for her work on the food for the meeting and for others who contributed to the snacks.

Looking forward to Aquamania. Only 4 weeks to go!

Definitely a great meeting! One of the more interesting ones I can remember in a while. We always have a great lineup of speakers, but its even better to hear from people within the club.

I can't wait to hear Rachel speak at Aquamania. Can't believe she's given talks around the world, but hasn't spoken to our club yet.

On a different note, can someone send me info on how to subscribe to amazonas? I know I could just google it, but thought having it posted could generate some more interest. I'd love to see the article on Rachel's business.

I can't have Rachel autograph that one, but I also don't have to worry about another stack of reading material to put somewhere in the house.
