Well I am in the market for a new air pump.
I have narrowed it down to two pumps the Jemhco LPH60 which is running my fish room now for 10 years. Its starting to loose amount of air.
And second pump would be the Alita AL-60 I've heard good things about these pumps.
Piston vs Diaphragm . I'm running 45 outlets now.
Any thoughts are welcome.

I Have the alita-60 it's a great air pump but you need at least the al-80. I am thinking of up grading myself

I have an alita AL-80, running about 35 outlets, but I have to bleed it. I have 45-50 outlets that will eventually be in use, and the pump should be just fine for that.

Interesting, I'm in the market for a new one as well. If Lucas sees this I'd be interested to know what he used in the air set up he built.

This alita AL-80 sounds serious, though.

when I built my fishroom, I traded by Alitas out for the Jehmco models because they go a bit larger. They are also SUPER quiet. I'm now running one of their LPH 45 models, and an LPH 100.

I still have an Alita, though, that I use for travel.

That SUPER quite is very appealing as I'll be living in the area. I hate loud pumps (I have one that's loud and I placed it as far away from the bedroom as possible).

Thanks! :)

Thank you all for your input. Its looks like the Alita 60 that was proposed to me looks to be to small in real life fishrooms. so I would have to step up to the Alita 80. I have read that you need to change diaphragms ever few years ? $65.
Kens Fish Alita AL-80 $229.95 + Replacement diaphragms @ $65. x every 4 years ?
Jehmco LPH-60 Linear piston $250. in use 10 years no issues until now small lose of air volume. really quiet. It looks clear to me now go with what has been working .
Thanks again everyone .
PS. I hope this helped anyone else in this situation.

There's also an air filter in the Jehmco one that needs to be occasionally cleaned for best performance. I bought an extra one a the time of purchase so that I can just swap them out while I'm cleaning them.

I'm a big fan of the Coralife SL-65 pumps. Powerful, inexpensive and flexible. I have a couple in my fishroom.

The one I bought was 10+ years old, but the person I bought it from had replaced the diaphragm and rebuilt it twice, he said he did that for all of his pumps, but they had never completely broken down.

I didn't mind because the cost was less than half of new retail, and I would've had to bought a much smaller pump if I was going new. Its been running for over a year now with no issues.
