3m Colorquartz being phased out

I know some folks think it is a very good substrate. If you want some, better get it now.

I know folks in GWAPA use this stuff, too, and I wouldn't be surprised if PVAS folks like it as well. Perhaps the three clubs could get together to do a group buy? We could get a couple of pallets, and each club could have some available for members in the future (for a little while, at least).

I'm in. I am thinking I will stock pile 50-100lbs each of a couple colors if we do that. I should order a pallet! Then sell it next year. Who wants in?

I would take 300lbs of the black t grade. I have been wanting it for awhile, just a pain to get to the city from here to be able to pick it up.

I'm surprised he hasn't piped up yet... Michael Barber (mab) gets the 3M stuff from somewhere around here for us. I've PM'd him to see if he can weigh in here.

I'm guessing he's on vacation or something, because I PM'd him the first day I heard about this.

If a group buy goes down, I'd be in for 6-8 bags of S-grade black.

I'll probably call the RAM Resinous Flooring & Quartz Supply place tomorrow, since they're not far from me. Looks like they want about $20/bag, which sounds cheaper than what I paid before.

I am getting a list from RAM Resinous Flooring & Quartz Suppy, Inc. I just called and am awaiting the email. I will pick up the whole order unless it is over 2000 pounds. I do have a truck. If anyone else that is closer is willing to pick this stuff up please speak up.

If we choose to do it, my paypal account is its_me_pe@yahoo.com. Make note to the amount/color/size when you place money in my account. Make sure you calculate what paypal will be taking and pay that much extra.

I think we can have this all figured out for delivery to the October meeting. It is a little bit of a drive for me so don't be afraid to throw a few dollars for gas.

Lets set the date of September 15 for all final orders to be in.

RAM has a lot of this stuff right now. I will be posting a list of colors/sizes/prices in a few.

I did find out that just because the product is being discontinued it does not mean that it will be unavailable. RAM has a few truck loads of the stuff which is thousands of pounds. They bought all the stock from Metro Sealant.

I just wanted to get the ball rolling before we all missed out on the stuff!

Patrick, I look forward to seeing the price and availability list. I'm definitely in for several bags for myself, and might be willing to coordinate orders from the Maryland area GWAPA folks.

I live in the Baltimore burbs, so Ram is quite close to me, but I don't own a truck, and I don't really have anywhere to store a couple of pallets securely (like a garage). If we can get everyone's ducks in a row, and coordinate well enough so that they pickup from my house on the same weekend we obtain the stuff, then I could coordinate the Maryland/I-95 crowd, across CCA, GWAPA, and even PVAS. And then you could handle the NOVA crowd.
