Sharing my fav fish, had him since last July at 3", he's over 14" now and starting to beef up. Simple lagoon setup, sand substrate with wood and lots of American Val's

We grow it in a 150 under low-medium light. Since it gets so tall, it doesn't need much. They are pretty cheap.

Where might one be able to collect them locally?

I've collected them from the potomac before, after a week or so the brown leaves fall off and they look just like the aquarium strains in the other tank. You can find them in most waterways

This fish is called the Barammunidi or Australian Arrowana down under, A game fish in the Murray Darling system.
