2 tanks for 1

I have a 180 gallon drilled with plugs (can be removed) in very good shape and a 125 gallon (not drilled) with a stand and canopy in very good condition, both tanks are 6ft long......

I'm looking for a 240 gallon or larger (just the tank) for the 2 above...
I'm moving and don't have room for 2 tanks

Thanks,
Russ

I don't necessarily think your asking for too much... seems like a fair trade for anyone looking to downsize to those tanks. But the problem you may run into is, most people with a 240 gallon tank are either looking to sell them outright, or keep them. It is rare you will find someone willing to trade them in the way your a seeking. Not impossible... just rare.

Just my opinion, but you might be better off just trying to straight sell those two tanks, and then using the money you get from the sale of those, to then buy your 240. That's the way I'd do it, if it were me, anyway.

Good luck!

Ouch. That's a pretty big problem, man. If you need the proceeds from both tanks to acquire the 240, then you have a predicament. You may have to decide if getting the 240 and starting over is worth it, and if so, sell off most/all of the africans. I don't know that you'd be able find anyone who can temporarily hold that many.

Not sure what to tell you on that one... maybe someone else has an idea I'm not thinking of...

I would use a 100 gallon stock tank as temporary housing for the fish to empty the 125. I think it would be a lot easier to move than a fish tank.

How long would they hold up in the stock tank? I really don't want to sell them...
Just stay on top of your water changes and watch for aggression... which probably won't be but so bad, since it'll be overstocked. Good filtration, weekly water changes, you should be good until you find your 240, so long as it doesn't take you 6 months! LOL...

I gather the amount you are able to spend on your 240 setup will be dictated by what you sell the 180 and 125 for? Just saying... we have a guy around here with the forum name "creepyoldguy", who I think still has a 240 setup he is trying to sell. You'd have to travel to get it... he is in the Lancaster area of PA, I believe. But if that does not deter you, you might want to shoot him a pm, and see what, if anything, can be worked out. It is a VERY NICE setup, imo.

Hopefully not that long, I really didn't want to use out of pocket money (the wife would kill me...lol) but if I have to I will....If i can't pull the trigger on the 240 i'm thinking about just keeping the 180 and selling the 125.....I have very little time to try and pull this off....
