Good day everyone,

I was wondering on a 1 species african cichlids, (Peacock) what would be the best ratio? compare to male female.

A big ratio like 1 male to 7 females will cut down on the violence. The smaller the ratio the higher he risk of violence and eventual fight to the death between the males.

Depends on tank size. A couple of males and lots of females if you want lots of breeding...

It depends on what species, for less aggressive peacocks like Kandese blue orchids you can have a few males but for more aggressive peacocks like Eureka Red *Aulonocara Jacobfreibergi you really can only have one male in the tank. So like most fish advice it depends

For one species peacock tank, the best ratio is infinity, that is 0 female to as many males as your tank can accommodate. An all male tank will eliminate breeding aggression. There will be pecking order established and routine stand off, but no harm will be done as long as you have 5 or more males to spread out the aggression. And why do you need females which have no color unless you want to set up a breeding colony.
