Juveniles - photo is of one of the parents
$5 each. 4 for $16.
Most likely a regional variant of stergiosi or dacrya.
Easy to keep, nice bright white with pearly scales and gold/yellow fins.
Can be picked up in Damascus, MD or delivered to April meeting.
I have two female Guianacara sp. for sale. I believe they are "Rio Caroni" (aka stergiosi), but they were undescribed at the point when I acquired them.
Both are mature enough to have spawned. One is 3-4" one is 2-3"...
I'm selling them because my male is driving himself nuts spawning...
I have an adult female and sub-adult probable female Guianacara sp. (Probably dacrya) who need a new home.
My other two have spawned again and are being particularly jerky about defending their devouring horde of fry. I'm somewhat concerned they'll stress the other two fish to death, given the...
So my newest tank is a 75 gallon, centered around the guianacara dacrya I just picked up from Becca. Many thanks to Becca for the awesome fish and helping me make my tank way greener than I ever could have! The final stock will be:
8 guianacara dacrya
2 apistogramma barlowi/kelleri (not sure...
I still have some of these left and would like to free up some tank space.
They are between 1" and 2" and I will sell 6 for $10.
Pick-up in Damascus, MD. I won't be at the next meeting, unfortunately.
PM if interested.
They are an as-yet undescribed species and grow up to be a opalescent...
Here are some pics and videos of the fry, and a couple of shots of the adults. The fry are right around 1" and not nearly as skittish as the adults. They follow me around the fish room begging for food and seem very interested in my cell phone/camera.

There's also been a lot of prolonged lip wrestling. I hope they all get through being hormonal teenagers without any casualties.
So my two largest Guianacara started "dancing" yesterday evening, after a meal of Repashy Spawn n' Grow and some Morning Wood they stole from my L052s.
I'm not really sure what species they are, actually, maybe no one is, since their official moniker was "Guianacara sp. undescribed" when I...
Does anyone out there have any of these(any type)? I am interested in a small group for my 90g SA tank. Can't seem to find them anywhere. HOT had them a couple months ago, but unfortunately I wasn't ready yet. Search on-line not much help. Dave's doesn't carry them, Jeff Rapps hasn't had them...
I saw some of these at HOT when I was there a few weeks ago picking up my new tank. G. sphenozona it was.. For those of you who have frequented this or other of the better LFS, is Guianacara usually readily available? I'll be ready for them in about a month. I want to let the cycling process get...
