One of the advantages of having 20 longs with the short end out is that you can pack a lot of tanks in a small space. One disadvantage, especially if there is only ambient lighting in the room, is that you can't really see what's going on in the back of the tank.
I've been growing out some...
Anyone keeping orange heads? I have three, all of which I think are males only because they are constantly beating on each other. Is there any way short of venting that you can sex these guys? All three have pretty good coloring and are very similar in markings.
Assuming that I do have three...

I've heard contradictory id's on this species, but regardless he's up for sale/trade. I'm asking ~$60...not totally sure what a fair price is, but I've seen smaller species valued at $40-50. Flawless finnage and trailers now, 6-6.5 inches.
Have (4) Geophagus aereos. One fish was getting picked on and looked stressed: removed to another tank - doing fine now. Another is clearly hiding from the "main" two. Could this be pairing behavior or are these fish just plain mean?
Paul.
Thanks.
Hi!
I've been looking at some Scientific names recently, and I noticed a pattern. I'm wondering if there is a reason. The fish I've noticed have kinda a similar body type too. But way different sizes in the case of some.....
They are
Mikrogeophagus, either Ramirezi or Altispinosus...
I have 6 of these for sale. I purchased them at the ACA convention thiniking they were a different variant. These are large fish, ranging from 6-9 inches. I would like to move them as the correct variant is on its way to my house.
These fish come from the private stock of the Shedd Aquarium...
