Is best for a Peacock only tank? The colors of the fish are yellows and blues. I wanted to go with black but I feel like the blues won't be seen as much as the yellows. I tried a pearl white background on another and the yellows blend into the background. The fish also seemed to be way too light...
It pains me to say this. But I will be moving and cannot take my 6ft 135 gallon tank with me. Tank comes with homemade stand and canopy, universal rocks Texas wall custom background, 2 aquatop 404s. 2 beamsworks 36" 10k led lights. Glass lids. Heaters and powerhead. Also some rocks if you want...
Does anybody have any suggestions on a particular brand of paint they use for painting a tank background?
I've used Plastidip on several of my tanks, but have been having issues with the cans not spraying properly and getting inconsistent and gloppy areas.
I think painting with a...
Bought this 7xx2 210 tank last year and finally found the time(and manpower) to get it down into the basement fish room a couple of months ago. I had done the DIY BG already and it was waiting to go in as well. That was made by carving out 2" pink insul foam and covering it with 3-4 coats of...
Anyone have any idea what color background might look good in my tank. I have a couple dark fish and black sand so I'd like something that I can still see my fish good. Here is a pic of the tank. Any opinions help thanks all.

We have a "paper" background on the 150 and, after doing some research, mounted it using mineral oil. It looked great at first, but 2 weeks in and it is NOT sticking anymore.
What do others recommend for mounting a background on a tank?
Free to any paid CCA member.. $20 towards membership for non-members.. Must take all 5.. Can bring to meeting.. I have 3-4 for a 48" footprint and 1 72" footprint.. I may be wrong about the other two 48" footprint because I'm lazy to open it up and measure..lol.. But I am sure of the 72" and...

Here's the progression of building my DIY foam and concrete background. It was a fun project for sure!
The plan is to get at least one 8'x4' sheet of insulating foam from my local hardware store and cut that down to size to make a rock background. Cut out "rock pieces" from the remaining part...
If anyone has a 3D background they're looking to sell (something we could hid equipment behind) that would be awesome!
Otherwise - black.
Have some pea gravel and cichlid mix gravel for trade, although that clearly doesn't cover either.
If we could get to the back of the tank, we'd...
I've made a foam and concrete background and currently have it soaking. I've changed the water from the tank quite a few times (on maybe half a dozen or so now). I left it soaking for about 5 hours last night and the pH was back near the top of my High range pH test kit (it's likely that it...

A step by step guide:
Step 1) Cut styrofoam sheets to size. A tight fit side to side is important, but do not sweat the height too much as substrate will hide the bottom.
Optional steps if making a layered...
I'm new here and just got my 55 gallon tank setup and started about a week and a half ago. I want to create a nice 3d background for the tank, which shouldn't be a problem to build. My question is how can I secure the background to the tank without using silicone? I have read on here that it...
I think I found myself my next project. I'm planning on setting up the 180 reef-ready I got on Craigslist a couple months back. How awesome would this be?
