I purchased a group of 5 wild caught Rio Tempisque Costa rican Barred Citrinellus a while back from Jeff Rapps. They have finally paired off and spawned for me after pairing with other amphilophus in my collection. Much easier to isolate them to their own tank ;)

Well, they spawned! Here's a short video of the female laying eggs vbL2_izzT00 The female had layed 500 +/- more eggs after the video was over I just came down stairs to find them ripping eachother apart so I threw in the divider with the eggs on the female's side and I have my fingers crossed

Like Michael, I saw a target of opportunity at the convention on Saturday and jumped on it. One of Dan's donations was a bag of Amphilophus amarillo. There's a lot of info on the web about the genus, but not a lot on this particular species. And the info that I can find varies widely...

Just about one month to the day My pair has spawned again, looks like maybe three hundred eggs... Have the last batch growing out in a ten gallon, eating three meals a day and growing like weeds. I believe I soon will be over run with these guys....any interest???
