I got a group of these a while back at a club meeting. They were very small and I've been growing them out for a while. Out of a bag of 8, I ended up with one female and 7 males! I had been keeping them in a 29 to see how they paired up. I had a bunch of jewel cichlids growing out with them...
Not that its particularly surprising, but A. coatepeque is a junior synonym of A. nigrofasciata. Which doesn't mean that the population in Lago Coatepeque is "the same" as populations of A. nigrofaciata found elsewhere...

Ok so I get home today and I start to feed all my fish and as I come to my A.Siquia "Rio Claro Red Fin" tank and what do I see to my surprise...about 50-70 free swimming fry. Woo hoo LOL. (I got these wc pair from Matt at the aquafest.)
