The Capital Cichlid Association is a 100% volunteer-run organization, and the most valuable contribution you can make is your time and expertise.

However, we understand that work and family commitments can make volunteering difficult. If you're unable to give your time, a financial donation is the next best way to support the club. Your contributions help cover essential costs, including:

  • Meeting space rentals
  • Speaker honorariums and travel expenses
  • Group buy expenses (e.g., next-day shipping for livestock)
  • Social events like our annual picnic and holiday party

Tanks for the taking

Greetings,

I am hastily emptying my walkout basement for construction (origin story: a water change gone wrong many years ago! Lol) and need to move some tanks asap. I’ve already moved the fish.

- 90-gal.
- 120-gal. (2’ x 4’ footprint)
- 75-gal
- 29-gal.

(There’s also an Oceanic 135, if anyone is that brave . . . so heavy.)

The larger ones all have stands of some sort (one metal, one purchased, one constructed).

Also, a bit of rock (some purchased, some collected), fwiw.

I’m off Montrose Road (exit 4 on 270) in Rockville. Looking at a Sunday-Tuesday a.m. timeframe.

Thanks,
Steve

60g Aquarium

I have a 60g Aquarium 48in W, 24in H and 12in D that I recently cleaned out and available for pickup in Gaithersburg MD. One can have it for free, have a couple of Eheim canister filters too.
Please text me in case you need to see pics and I will post them.

Thanks
Tony

Tell me about Pelvicachromis kribensis

For anyone in the market, Londontowne has a ton of WC P. kribensis dehane and P. taeniatus(?) right now. I got myself a pair of the former. I overheard Andrew talking about them at the October meeting but I wasn't sure of his tag on here/didn't want to DM the wrong Andrew by accident. That aside, I have a general idea of their care but just want to hear from other people to make sure I'm doing it right + get tips on how to be more successful with breeding them. I've had kribs before but I'm a inherently more cautious with these since they're WC. They weren't too colored up at the store but behaviorally they were fine at 7.5-7.8 pH so that eases my anxiety a bit.

Looking for some air pump

would love to get 3-5 used air pump for my new tank

WTB feeders

Hi,

I'm mainly looking for guppy and endler culls to resupply my feeder fish colony. Will consider other fish that you don't mind becoming food.
