On christmas I found the male guarding a small clutch of eggs in the back of the pleco cave. Yesterday I moved the fry into a breeder net and I just dropped in some zuchini for them to eat. I'm really excited to grow these guys out. Once my camera is finished recharging, I'll post some pics

Well, I guess the lemon drops ARE big enough to spawn......saw these today.

These guys spawned again. Of all of my Ancistrus, these have been some of the most difficult. They spawn far less frequently, fry have a lower survival rate, and the fry grow much slower. Let's see how this batch does! I'm not even going to leave them in this breeder box.....I've found...

They're also sometimes also called L144s. I got three of these at the 2012 ACA meeting and they've spawned a few times, but dad ate the eggs. This time it seems he's being much more parental (I ended up with 2M and 1F so maybe it's the other male this time).

Ok, so I got some adult BN plecos from someone a while back and one doesn't look like the others. The pattern is different, and it doesn't have that white tip on it's tail. Any ideas? Is this just a pattern variant, a different species, a pleco mutt?

I now have the second spawn of super red BN hatched, looks like around 40 wigglers. The first spawn happened in the 75 with several dozen juvie oblongum's. I was only able to save 1 fry from that spawn, but the breeders are now in a different tank. Any chance I'm the first in the US to spawn...
