Being as flowerhorn origins are central americans and severums are south american id say no. Isnt it true that there are no crosses between the two locations?

just someone telling me that happened in his tank but no proof of it eggs disappear just wondering if true or not.

Both fish are substrate spawners which means they share the same breeding strategy so it is possible they could cross breed.

Now whether the fry would be viable would be very hard to say.

It would really be a genetic mish mash.

I've been under the assumption that centrals and souths are unable to breed, minus the exeptions like festae (and maybe ornatum, given how similar they are)

Trace on mfk has had umbees and losellie bed in his 1400 gallon setup. Not sure if he grew out any fry from it but they definitely became free swimmers.
